MBMC Racing was founded by our family in 2023 as an entry point into quarter midget racing for our 6-year-old son, Maclan. MBMC represents the combination of the first name initials for each member of our immediate family (Matt, Becca, Maclan, Caileigh). Youth racing is a family-centered sport, which encouraged us to brand our racing team as a reflection of our family commitment to this endeavor. Many new race teams sprout up as “[First Name] [Last Name] Racing.” Our name and brand reflects that our commitment to this sport extends beyond just Maclan and will include Caileigh in the mix as another race car driver in our family, without having to rebrand.
Maclan is an aspiring youth race car driver who participates in asphalt quarter midget racing as part of the NASCAR Youth Series. At 6-years-old, Maclan is a journeyman racer competing in the rookie classes of quarter midget racing for the 2024 season. 2025 will see Maclan move up into racing in the competitive classes for racers in the 6-8 age bracket. His passion for racing is second only to his love of his family, in particular, his younger sister Caileigh who loves being involved in supporting her big brother’s aspirations. Maclan attends 1st grade in the nation’s heart of racing, Mooresville, NC. He is a leader among his peers, has a passion for helping others, and is a committed friend. Maclan’s infectious personality and his inherently gregarious nature lend themselves to not only building rapport within his peer group, but also garners the respect and admiration of all those he meets, regardless of age. Maclan is an articulate young man, can engage in meaningful and thoughtful conversation at a level well beyond his age, which translates easily into his ability to be a valuable partner for any organization looking introduce or further their brand through visibility in the growing sport of youth car racing.
MBMC Racing regularly races as members of the North Carolina Quarter Midget Association (NCQMA) on their home track, NCQMA Speedway, located in Sailsbury, NC. In addition to actively participating on their home track, MBMC Racing also participates in numerous NASCAR Youth Series quarter midget racing events taking place throughout the Southeast and beyond.
Through our experience in racing Maclan is learning about the science, technology, and engineering of a motor vehicle, enhancing his coordination and alertness as an individual, and most importantly engaged in a culture that teaches kids, like Maclan, about the ideals of respect, integrity, inclusivity, passion, and responsibility without envy of others. These are foundational life skills that MBMC Racing passionately believes in, and that Maclan is learning from an early age, while simultaneously providing him with a diverse, family centric environment for him to grow and enjoy the sport of motor racing.
Each year MBMC Racing’s home track hosts more than 20 race weekends which draw participants from all over the Carolinas, the Southeast, Upper Midwest, and Great Plains. The track’s signature event, the Carolina Clash, welcomes more than 200 youth drivers and their families to our track, with attendance of 1,000 people across this exciting weekend. In addition, MBMC Racing competes in the Southeast Dixie Shootout Series, as well as NASCAR Youth Series national races, which bring in participants from across the country. These events attract anywhere from 1,500 to 4,000 spectators during a single race weekend. The volume and diversity of participants, along with the wide spectrum of family, friends, and spectators that come out to enjoy our racing provides race teams and their marketing partners with a highly visible representation of their brand on the track each weekend.
MBMC Racing is committed to further expanding its participation in local, regional, and national series quarter midget racing in 2025 and beyond. Opportunities to branch out into other forms of youth car racing are boundless if the chance were to present itself. Within our first year of operation, MBMC Racing has established a strong family brand that is recognized by youth racing families and spectators in our sport. MBMC Racing brings passion, devotion, commitment, and faith into all that we do. MBMC Racing has adopted a social media slogan used by our dear friends from Indianapolis who operate a similar faith-based company. We are always reminded to #HaveFaith in all that we do as a family and as a race team. This slogan is prominent on our race cars, our racing suits, and our team track gear as a constant reminder that we place our fate in the hands of a higher power in all that we do, both on and off the track.
